Exploring Death Valley National Park

Day 2 of our 3-day motorcycle journey takes us back t Death Valley National Park where we would spend nearly 2 days exploring! We've been there countless times and there are still things we haven't seen!

The day started out in Beatty, Nevada with breakfast at Gema's Cafe which has become our usual breakfast spot in town, then we cruised down the road to show the group Rhyolite Ghost Town just outside of the National Park.

Rhyolite was founded in 1904 during the height of the Nevada gold rush after a major gold discovery in the Bullfrog Hills. The town exploded almost overnight, growing to several thousand residents and boasting banks, hotels, a school, newspapers, and even electric streetlights—rare for the era. However, the boom was short-lived. By 1909, declining gold production, financial panic, and harsh desert conditions caused investors and residents to leave. By 1916, Rhyolite was essentially abandoned, earning its place as one of the West’s most iconic ghost towns and a stark reminder of how quickly frontier dreams could rise and fall.

Heading into the park, our first stop ended up being an early lunch at the Wild Rose Tavern which was about 40 miles away from Rhyolite and about an hour ride. Located at The Oasis at Death Valley where we would also end up staying, we all enjoyed some good eats like pizza, tuna sandwiches, salad, and more!

From there, we headed over to Badwater Basin to film the rest of our video highlighting and reviewing the new 2026 models that we were riding for this trip. As with all things, it ended up taking longer than we expected, so by the time we were done, the sun had already fallen behind the mountains off in the distance. We still thought it would be cool to show everyone Artist's Drive passing by The Artist's Palette and even though we've ridden that road a few times, doing it as night fell was a truly unique experience!

After rolling back into The Oasis, we were all feeling a nice sit down dinner, so we walked over to the Last Kind Words Saloon for some steaks, burgers, and a drink or two. That was our favorite meal of the trip so far and it was nice to sit down and unwind as a group.

While we didn't stop to see everything in the park as time got tight, we did make plans to see some new (to us) landmarks in the park the following day which was an awesome time!

SEE YOU DOWN THE ROAD!
