Getting a Piece of the Action!
It's our final day in bike week and it was time to catch some action after some slow days waiting for everyone to show up to the event. The Thrashin' Crew had to make their way back home, but we still had a full day in Scottsdale before getting a head start on our ride home the following day.
We started off the day at Butterfield's Pancake House for the second day in a row (yea...it's that good) and then cruised over to Westworld to check things out. It's normally pretty packed, but we showed up somewhat early as everyone was recovering from the previous night's festivities, but we checked out some vendor booths, met some fans, and just missed one of many stunt shows by a few minutes! Westworld is where all of the concerts are at and it can get pretty crazy once that gets going in the evening!
Up next, we took a short cruise down the road to Harley-Davidson of Scottsdale, which is the world's LARGEST Harley-Davidson® Dealership at 150,000 Square feet! Scottsdale HD is home to vendors, bike washes, music, drinks, and good times during bike week and is usually pretty hoppin' throughout the day. There are tons of bikes to see in their inventory, they have a tattoo and barber shop, and a massive selection of MotorClothes to choose from. We hung out there for most of the afternoon, catching up with lots of friends and fans, and it made for a great way to kickstart the rest of the day.
From there, we took the 30 mile ride out to Cave Creek to see it in action and it took a lot longer to get there in the mid-day action than it did the night before! Either way, it ended up being worth the ride after seeing all of the great riders enjoying some time in the sunshine (and some light rain). Before checking out the town, we decided to grab a bite to eat at the Buffalo Chip Saloon & Steakhouse. It was busy there so food took a little while, but it was well worth the wait for some tender steaks and barbecue.
Across the street in the Roadhouse Bar parking lot, there were tons of Vendors set up as well as some bike shows, so we cruised around checking out all of the amazing builds and ran into some friends. We ended up sticking around until the sun began to fall and were glad that we made the extra time to take it all in. After some changes of plans for our night's destination, we decided to ride out to Wickenburg which is only about 50 miles away, to get a little head start on the 400 mile ride home the following morning.
Overall, that final day in Cave Creek made the whole trip worthwhile and we were glad that we gave AZ Bike Week a chance. We'll be back again!
