The scenic route from Phoenix to LA
Taking the long way home
Just like the trip started, we didn't want to spend the whole journey on I10 so we found an alternate route along the 2lanes to enjoy some miles as we headed west. The Thrashin' crew made their way to Mexico and aside from stopping in Prescott, AZ we didn't have any specific plans and were just going with the flow.
We made it to Prescott by lunch time, so we got some eats at the Palace Restaurant & Saloon for some burgers and beef dips before hitting the road again. Lance mentioned Highway 93 which he recently drove through on a trip with his wife, so we decided to head that way to experience it on two wheels. State Route 96 would bring us to 97 and then on to 93 aka I40 which eventually led us into Kingman, Arizona for a quick gas stop.
Checking out rooms online, we found some incredible cheap stays in Laughlin and since Josh had never stayed there we decided to give it a go! The ride there had some curves and sweepers through the desert before dropping down into the valley with views of the Colorado River and the casinos surrounding it. We landed at The Golden Nugget, unpacked the bikes, then got a good 'ol steak dinner downstairs at Saltgrass Steakhouse before resting up for the final stretch home the following morning.
Overall. it was a great trip and we were glad to have taken the scenic route home with some stops and new (to us) roads along the way!
