We started the day bright and early, waking up at the Grand Canyon Caverns campsite then hit the road for what was supposed to be a short ~160 mile day. As we learned the day prior, sometimes the bikes need a little attention, so we did what we had to do along the way, eventually pulling into Monument Valley to meet up with Don and the crew from Monument Valley Safari, who would be taking us to the elusive viewpoint known as Hunt's Mesa where we would be camping for the night. While Hunt's Mesa is known by many, only 4 tour companies have the privilege of bringing outsiders to explore the area and we were incredibly grateful that they offered to take us out.

It was a ~2 hour 4x4 drive through sand, gravel, and climbing rock structures to get there and we were really getting off of the beaten path for this one! Everyone in the group was grinning from ear to ear, especially watching the sunset just before pulling into the camp they set up for us overlooking the famous Monument Valley view.

They cooked us steaks, shared stories, and played music, and we all had an unforgettable time unplugging under the stars. We knew we had a long way to go to get to the Black Hills and we were all looking forward to the adventure!
