Making our way to Milwaukee | Durango, CO to Park City, Kansas
The journey continues...
After a break in the series to drop our Sturgis videos and a few others, we're getting back to our videos covering the ride from Los Angeles to Milwaukee. In this episode, we ride the Wold Creek Pass with a fan, pass through Dodge City to explore some history, then make our way to Park City, Kansas to hang with the folks over at Twister City Harley-Davidson for a meet and greet!
We had some good eats at restaurants like Oscar's Cafe in Durango with the pulled pork benedict, Nino's del Sol in Alamosa, CO for some killer Mexican food, Miss Kitty's Cafe in Dodge City for some skillets and ham steaks, and a couple of gas station meals and chain restaurants, but hey...that's life on the road sometimes!
We got to spend some time on one of our favorites, Wolf Creek Pass, which never disappoints. Wolf Creek Pass is a high mountain pass in the San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado, located along Us HWY 160 between South Fork and Pagosa Springs. Sitting at an elevation of about 10,857 feet, it offers dramatic scenery with steep climbs, sharp curves, and sweeping views of the Rio Grande and San Juan National Forests. The weather was perfect as we were passing through and those roads never disappoint. While there is a few sharp turns, it's most comprised of long smooth sweepers with some incredible views along the way and makes for a great road to enjoy some spirited riding.
It was the perfect ride to put some pep in our step for the following days on the interstate to make it to Kansas, which was enjoyable in it's own way, riding through the open country enjoying every mile.
We've got one more jam packed video from this trip, then we're off on the next adventure!
