Riding for a good cause!
After some back to back cross-country travels, it was time we headed south and explored some more of San Diego County! We took one of our favorite scenic routes through Idyllwild on the Banning-Idyllwild Panoramic Highway (SR243) and along some other country roads to make our way into Santa Ysabel, where we would be staying the next two nights.
Josie's Hideout is a well-known biker destination in Southern California, famous for not only the scenic ride in from all directions but for their live music, food, and drinks. They also have campsites and lodging available behind the property where we spent some time in the "Adobe House". Rentals are available here.
We spent the first night cooking up steaks and hangin' by the fire before spending the following day at the first annual Military Appreciation event! There were a handful of non-profit organizations spreading awareness and their stories as well as a huge showing of veterans there to support and have a good time! We got to meet some incredible people, learn some new things, and hear some inspiring stories. This is what it's all about!
Stay tuned for the ride home as we take the Ortega Highway to Cook's Corner!
Below are links to the 3 Organizations we spoke with:
