Riding to Arizona's OLDEST Hotel! | Four Corners Rally Trip - Day 1

Durango, CO Bound!

It's been FOUR YEARS since we've made it out to Durango for the Four Corners Rally and we decided it was time to check it out! Our plan was to make it out there from Los Angeles in two days, so we rode into Williams, Arizona for the first night to check out the oldest operating hotel in the state!

After a warm but enjoyable 460 mile ride into town, we checked into the Historic Grand Canyon Hotel and got to hear some awesome history by the manager Brittany. The Grand Canyon Hotel, established in 1891 in Williams, Arizona, is steeped in history and charm, making it a significant landmark for those journeying to the Grand Canyon. Originally built to accommodate railroad travelers, the hotel showcases classic Western architecture and has preserved much of its original character over the years. It has welcomed countless guests, including famous figures like President Theodore Roosevelt, who promoted the importance of national parks. Today, the hotel stands as a reminder of the region's vibrant past and continues to attract visitors with its unique blend of history and hospitality, serving as a gateway to one of America's most breathtaking natural wonders.

We ate next door at the Red Raven Restaurant and relaxed after a great first day on the road and got a drink at The Canyon Club bar down the street before calling it a night. The ride into Durango the following day brought much better weather and cooler temps and we watched the scenery turn from tan to green as we climbed elevation into Colorado.

We stopped at the four corners monument on the way and pulled into Durango just before nightfall, getting dinner at our go-to late night restaurant Steamworks Brewing.

Stay tuned for some good times ahead at the 2024 Four Corners Rally!
