Throughout the day, we watched the landscape change from open country roads to long sweeping turns, and on to some great curvy roads crossing bridges with some unbeatable views. Initially, the goal was to make it into Robbinsville, North Carolina but by the time we approached the beginning of the Cherohala Skyway it was nearing dusk. We decided to call it a night in Tellico Plains so that we could ride and capture the Cherohala Skyway during daylight, and got lucky finding the Lodge at Tellico for a great night's stay...more on that in the next episode.
It was getting late, and the only spot open for food was the Iron Works Grille, which was a decent meal considering our options and the time of the night.
Overall, it was a great day of riding and another fun section of our journey to Kentucky! We were excited to go ride the Skyway and the Tail of the Dragon the following day and see what they had to offer!
