Cobra Exhaust Install - Essential New Bike Upgrades

An Essential Upgrade on a New Low Rider

2LaneLife

Two moto-vloggers passionate about traveling and the open road.

Welcome back to another shop video where we install a killer exhaust setup on Josh's fresh off the lot 2019 Softail Low Rider! The motor already has a Stage 4 build on it, making it a 114ci motor (from a 107) plus some additional internal upgrades. All that with stock exhaust?...something doesn't add up. We decided to wake this puppy up and let her breathe with a 2 into 1 Cobra El Diablo full exhaust system!

Behind the Build

Our guy Josh just picked this bad boy up recently and absolutely loved the setup, but it was still missing something despite all of that power. Off the lot it came with a Stage IV Kit which bumps it up from a 107" motor to a 114" motor with ported heads, performance valve springs, high-flow injectors, forged high compression pistons and rings, SE8-515 Cam, High Performance Tappets, High Capacity Clutch Springs, High Capacity Clutch Disks, and much more!

Purpose-Built Parts

With all of those performance upgrades, it just doesn't make sense to have restricting, heavy, and quiet exhaust on a bike that was built for purpose and performance. With the Cobra 2 into 1 El Diablo setup, we are not only saving weight and space, but allowing the bike to breathe better with increased outflow, resulting in increased performance and generally cooler engine temperatures.

In most exhaust applications, throttle response and sound are also greatly improved, which was definitely the case here.

Installation

Typically, exhaust installation is pretty straight forward. There are still some important details to pay close attention to like O2 Sensors, gaskets, retaining clips, and proper re-installation of hardware and brackets. Luckily, this exhaust came with a super detailed set of instructions that we made sure to look over before starting the installation. All in all, it took us about an hour and a half to switch out the exhaust systems and get the bike back on the road!

The Ride so Far

Since installing the exhaust, Josh has put about 1,800 more miles on the bike, and it's made a world of a difference in performance and just an all-around better feeling on the bike. It sounds great, is about a 6/10 on the volume scale, has a very clean look, and just makes the bike that much more fun to ride and enjoy!

Thank You Cobra!

We want to give a huge thank you to Camron and Ben at Cobra USA for supplying us with this exhaust system, and for supporting us since day 1! We only stand behind brands that we truly believe in and who engineer and produce top quality products with performance in mind...just like Cobra. Josh is extremely impressed with the El Diablo Setup so far, and can't wait for a full tune.

Thanks for tuning in to another shop video! We'd love to travel every week of the year, but that can't happen without keeping the bikes going, so we might as well share that side of things with everyone as well! We hope you enjoyed the video and encourage anyone with travel, maintenance, or parts related questions to reach out and we'll do our best to help you out!

See ya down the road!

Stay safe...stay inspired!
